ABOUT TRANS-CASCADIA

We're a team of passionate thinkers and doers, dedicated to building with purpose and clarity. Collaboration and curiosity drive everything we do.

In 2015, a small group of bike industry veterans, Nick Gibson, Tommy Magrath, and Alex Gardner, set out to do something about the remote backcountry trails they loved that were quietly vanishing. Not from policy decisions or development, but from the simple reality that nobody was maintaining them.

They founded Trans-Cascadia as a 501(c)3 non-profit with a straightforward mission: reclaim, build, maintain, and protect backcountry mountain bike trails in the Pacific Northwest. To fund the work, they built a race, a blind-format backcountry enduro that took riders deeper into the Cascades than any event had gone before.

The model worked. The race funds the trail work. The trail work makes the race possible. And over a decade of showing up, with shovels, chainsaws, professional crew, and hundreds of volunteers, Trans-Cascadia has become a permanent steward of the trails that define riding in this region.
